  • Our Across Canada Journey (Part 8) Conclusion

August 08, 2005. Bassano (67 km), Brooks (14 km) Pleasant Hatchery. Bantry Canal. Calgary (184 km) Hanna. Strathmore.

Nicely paved roadway’s surrounding with widely open landscapes of flat prairies of Alberta, and the skyline of the horizon dividing the two spheres into parts, and speed rejoicing a traveller’s heart; but the most important thing is that all the roads lead to the people, bad or nice. Meeting them makes life eventful, full and completed. Because deep down you have under your skin that sense of belonging to the human race, that what makes the Universe alive, versatile and unique at the same time.

Coexistence in this Universe, decently and honestly, without taking advantage of each other but complementing each other, that is what makes sense, in general.

Chancellor (26 km). Siksika Reserve.(First Nation)

Calgary (91 km). Standard. Strathmore (22 km). Short stop at the Strathmore Railway Crossing Restaurant. Had a big size Cheese Pizza. It was tasty.

Lyalta, a hamlet. Boundary Road. Chestemere (2 km).

Sharp at 3-30 p.m. of August 08, 2005 we arrived at Calgary.

  • Our Across Canada Journey (Part 7)

August 07, 20005. Back on the Road Grand Valley. What a view with the wheat fields downhill! Souris. Alexander. Virden. Regina (350 km). We stopped in Regina, and I bought 3 diamond rings (souvenirs from our Trans Canada Trip). We’re on the Ring Road around, laying out way to Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Medicine Hat. Speed 110 km/hour. Cloud formations look like a dolphin family: Mama, Dad and a son streaming for a stroll chased by small and big sharks. Marina scene came to my mind connecting to the sky scenic picture.

Just about 6 p.m. our van started to make funny noises. Janko stopped thinking that something is wrong with the transmission. I flagged down and one couple stopped. Janko called the CAA  to have help for checking the van. They arrived very quickly, took the van to the Maple Creek ALF’s garage. This time while Janko was busy to organise these things, I looked around and saw a wonderful wheat field full of blue corn flowers.I started to pick up corn flowers, very soon a bouquet of freshly cut flowers was ready. Janko saw me picking up them got calmed and continued the way with me in the car of our new friends Terry and Travis who invited us to their home in Pia Pot. We were served with dinner: barbecued hamburgers, scalloped potatoes, and salad. And coffee by all means.

We stayed overnight in the Cypress Hills Motel, the car was fixed: the filter was clogged. And we hit the road heading for Calgary.

Listen to the music above “Corn Flowers” and below “This is the coolest video for a strong recharge energy”:

  • Our Across Canada Journey (Part 6)

August 05, 2005. Now we are on High Way 11, Iroquois Falls. The road is straighter, no ups and downs, we are not passing major cities, gaining time, not losing it.. Horizon is wide open, open field and columinous clouds are surrounding you as if you’re in the middle of Galaxy of Beauty. Hardly anybody is on the road! It’s easier to go home-Home Sweet Home!

I won’t mention the names of Lakes, Rivers, Locations on the way No. 11 West, it will take many-many pages. Last night I saw a dream about the piano. I was in the crowd of people concerned about moving a piano. I recognised it was my piano. This is my interpretation of my dream. I started to worry about the music lessons for my grandson Glebochka: last summer when we were visiting my family in Russia, St. Petersburg, I asked Gleb’s mother Larisa:” How about music lessons for Gleb?”, she answered :”Oh, no, Mom. Least of all I want to have a flute player at home.”

And now, in 2019, fourteen years later Gleb himself takes guitar lessons and enjoys music in full. How life is changing! Look at his photo to the left and it’s our musical gift for him below.

Old Cadillac 1986 Convertible’s on the road: two old people there: he and she! Nice to see this couple enjoying travelling!

August 6, 2005. Midway Hotel, near Brandon, Regina. Stayed overnight. Continental breakfast included. Very convenient.

  • Our Across Canada Journey (Part 5)

August 3, 2005. Route 40 East . To Quebec-city, the capital of the province Quebec. The country-side is different: more open fields, St. Lawrence river, and many other small rivers: Riviere on Prairies, Yamachawa petite, small towns passing by: Three Rivers, Ashawawa. Quebec city is a very ancient city with its interesting history and folk Festivals. Walking around, but the air temperature is very high 29 degrees by Celsius and humidity index is also high.Sweat was pouring off us. It’s necessary to stop by somewhere and have a rest.Quebec province, town Dorion. Motel “Miss Dorion”, our room No. 14,downstairs is a bordello with stripteasing girls on the top of men. And all the details of the sexual intercourse on big screen TV.

I tried to book a room, nobody paid attention at me, when Janko tried, he was successful, he spoke French, the other services were declined by him.

August 4, 2005. High Way 40 West+Ottawa (150 km). Beautiful asphalt covering of the road. Only here one can see the sun shines on the road  in such a way as the reflections of the sun forming the wet horizon paddles, it was a mirage, but in reality, the paddles were disappearing as you closer approaching them. The horizon line is teasing you as the girls from the “Miss Dorion” bordello.

Big city Ottawa, we walked around Ben Franklin place, the city Hall, jumped into the car and there we go again. It’s Thursday to-day, two weeks as we are on the journey across Canada: Missisipi River,Ottawa River, Laurential Hills. At long last the rain fell down, such a relief from extreme heat and humidity!

Canadian Clock Museum in the town of Deep River. We visited it and then changed the route for No.11. Deux Riviers. Dunlop Crescent. Beautiful view of the River. And then Lakes: Dream Lake, Trout Lake and many other lakes- we crossed  the Ontario borderline.
