Then you are having your ticket to Calgary’s history.  Come and explore the Two Ladies in the Lougheed House Lougheed’s  exquisite  Victorian  mansion       (a national historic site). Have you ever wondered what life was like for the elite members of Victorian society? Senator Sir James and Lady Isabella Lougheed were among the most prominent and glamorous figures in early Calgary and lived in the house since 1891 with their two children and staff. Discover the Lougheeds’ story while exploring their magnificent 14,000 square foot mansion and have a brunch at the restaurant at a very reasonable price, open year-around, Wednesday through Friday from 11.00 a.m.-4.00 p.m., Saturday & Sunday from 10.00 a.m.-4.00 p.m., tel. 403-410-9288, 707 Thirteenth Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB. The beautifully and faithfully restored house is open in May, 2005 as a Public Heritage Centre. We’ve been there and propose to your attention a slide show from the elegant 1891 sandstone mansion of Sir James and Mrs. James Alexander Lougheed.
