Day 3 (July 17, 2011): Corfu (Greece)

MediterraneanMapOn a clear day of 17th of July we disembark on the Greek Island of Corfu.

Two years ago we had been on this island. The main impression was our visit to St. Spiridon’s Cathedral to pick up some relics from there. Larisa once told a story about one of her friends who advised to visit it because of Saint Spiridon’s spirit who is very agile and ready to help anybody in need, moving fast with his high speed flying slippers . So we headed there then and decided to do the same .

Four of us said a prayer for one person whom we all know:

“Give him, Saint Spiridon, strength to overcome his mental disorder, to realize what is right and what is wrong, give him a reason to go out of his zone of confusion and see things in reality. Spiridon, put on your flying slippers and come to visit with him, and, maybe, enlighten him because this person does not listen to anybody in the world. Please, do, Saint Spiridon of ours, help him”.
