Two. Those who like the idea of playing a guitar, but don’t want to actually strum one, might want to check out the Air Guitar World Championships, which take place annually at the Oulu Music Video Festival in Oulu, Finland. Beginning as a bit of joke back in 1996, today the event has become a serious competition during which participants strut around the stage pretending to play a guitar to recorded music. Real instruments are not allowed, but the air guitarists can use props and costumes to add to the quality of their performance. A jury judges technical merit, pantomime, stage presence and “airness”, which refers to the art of performance.

Three. Iceberg harvesting is an industry in Newfoundland (CA), that few people are aware of. Each spring, icebergs break off from glaciers in Greenland and eventually float by Newfoundland in an area of the sea known as Iceberg Alley. Throughout the summer, special boats carrying cranes and other specialized equipment collect pieces of the icebergs. The quality of water that comes from these chunks of icebergs is known to be very pure. All ice collected is tested, then is used for various products such as vodka and bottled water.

The croc was quickly captured and put back into its cage without incident. Quantas, the airline carrying the reptile, said it would be launching an investigation to find out how the critter got loose during its two-hour journey between Brisbane and Melbourne.
