Two. Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York  $10,000 USA a month apartment Sunday morning with a needle in his arm and two bags of heroin nearby. He was 46, and leaves behind three children and a body of work that will carry his casket into film history. From his Oscar-winning performance in Capote, in 2005, the 2005 film produced out of Vancouver by William Vince, to his turn opposite Meryl Streep as a priest shrouded in doubt, or a charismatic cult leader in P.T. Anderson’s The Master, Hoffman could always make the larger-than-life characters feel down-to-earth. He mined every human flaw and found equal measures of ugliness and beauty. Hoffman’s vocabulary was different, yet every performance he ever gave managed to resonate with undeniable truth.

“The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you’re uncool,” is a line that Hoffman uttered in the role of Bangs. That is correct.
