Two. Quebec Winter Carnival was being held on and off since 1894, but on regular annular basis since 1955. That year Bonhomme, the mascot of the festival, made the first appearance. It takes place usually at the end of January and lasts till mid February, in Quebec city, Canada.

The most famous attractions of this winter festival are the night-time and daytime parades led by mascot Bonhomme Carnaval.

A masquerade ball with up to 400 participants at the grand ballroom of the Chateau Frontenac takes place. Races and tournaments are held in vast majority.

Looking back into 2014 and remembering the World Olympic Sochi Games we name top stunning athletes of 2014 Winter Olympics: Anna Sidorova-Russia, she is the captain of the Russian Curling team; Elena Ilinykh (Russia, figure skating); Alexandra Saitova, Angelina Goncharenko, Anna Prugova, Ekaterina Stolyarova (Free-Style Skiing), Maria Komissarova (Skiing), Ekaterina Galkina (curling). Congrats to all of you and thanks for beautiful results.

Four. The 102-nd Grey Cup was a Canadian football game played November 30, 2014 between the West Division champion Calgary Stampeders and East Division champion hamilton Tiger-Cats to determine the Canadian Football League championship for the 2014 summer. The contest was held at British Columbia Place stadium in Vancouver, BC. The Stampeders won the contest 20-16 to claim their seventh Grey Cup championship in franchise history and first since 2008.

Five. In Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, in June starts the red River Exhibition (or “The EX” for short0, it is a ten-day festival featuring a midway, concerts, stage shows, and agricultural exhibits. The park is operated by the red River Exhibition Association, a non-profit organization.

The EX was started in 1952 at the Osborne Stadium complex near the Manitoba legislative Building. It later moved to the Polo Park Race Track and then to the Winnipeg Stadium, Winnipeg Arena, and Winnipeg Velodrome facilities. In 1997, it moved to the present location.
