One. Mourners carried the coffin with the body of Nodar Kumaritashvili, the Georgian luger killed in a practice run at the Olympics, during his funeral in Bakuriani, Georgia. Thousands of Georgians paid their last respects to the young luger, whose death cast a pall over the opening of the 2010 Winter Olympics and sent his nation into mourning.
Two. Canada’s figure skater Joannie Rochette reacts to a thunderous ovation after her heart-wrenching performance in the women’s short program on February 24, 2010, two days after her mother died. She is in third place.
Three. Speed skater Clara Hughes of Canada raced the 5,000 and got her medal and it will be the last event of her glorious Olympic career.
Four. It’s do or die for hockey team Canada as they took on Russia in the elimination round. They won with the score 7: 3. On Friday they will play the semi-final game with Slovakia.
Five. Amount of medals is constantly changing, in general, the USA goes first, Germany, Norway, Canada and then Russia. Tough time for Olympians.
