[:en]International Superstars three singers Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto, and Gianluca Ginoble ,

three teenagers appeared in May, 2009, on the popular  Italian talent show “ Ti Lascio  Una Canzone”

and dazzled television viewers with the flawless rendition of the Napoletanian standard “O Sole Mio”.

The boys , who won the competition easily, decided that their group need a name. “ Il  Volo” , meaning

”Flight” was chosen to signify that three young singers were about to spread their wings and fly. 
Il Volo ( two tenors- Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto, and one baritone Gianluca Ginoble) are

combining classical and operatic music with a modern style , a genre they call “popopera”.
