First. St. Petersburg, Russia. “A woman aged 45 called the police around 4 a.m. to say that her cat contained explosives”, a statement from St. Petersburg police said. “Officers went to the scene and spoke to the lady who was in a drunken state”. Police searched the premises and the surroundings to make sure there were no explosives, the statement said, adding, “The cat is safe and sound”.

Second. Julian Assange, founder of whistleblower website Wikileak is leading an online poll by Time magazine for its 2010 Person of the Year. Assagne, an Australian who has become a thorn in the side of the pentagon with his releases of secret U.S. military documents about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, had received 21,736 votes as of Friday.
Third. Polish composer Henryk Mikolaj Gorecki, who became one of the bestselling classical artists ever with his Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, has died after a long illness at the age of 76.

In celebration of the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth, phenomenal pianist Janina Fialkowska enchants audiences with the grand Fantasy on Polish Airs and the Chopin-inspired Prelude Variations written especially for her by composer John Burge. Fifth. Country singer helps families. Housing industry joins Paul Brandt in the Build It Forward initiative. It could be taken from one of Paul Brandt’s own songs: “The best things around that I have ever seen came from small towns and big dreams”. This initiative is certainly one of the best things.
