WildroseFirst. Calgary, Pine Hill Park. The Wild Rose gets into blossom. Watch on the photo from there. To-day, June 25th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. is a BIG CLEAN UP in the local park, street or alley. The City of Calgary Waste and Recycling Services will be on site to collect materials from residents at no charge. Meet at the Pineridge Community Centre at 6024 Rundlehorn Dr. N.E. There will be a BBQ on site for volunteers.

Second. Calgary, Wildcatters golf tournament. Join Providence at their annual fundraiser and golf tournament and support one of Calgary’s oldest and most respected preschools for children with disabilities on Aug. 24, at the Country Hills Golf & Country Club (1334 Country Hills Boulevard N.W.).

Third. Calgary, Super Sonic Men’s Choir performs to-day, Saturday, June 25th, as003 part of VoiceMale. It will be joined by the Calgary Boys’ Choir Alumni and Land of lakes Choirboys of Minnesota. Address is: First Baptist Church, 1311 4th Street, S.W.

Fourth. Summer Camps for children of different ages. The Epcor Centre’s Summer-ACT program offers one-and two-week program camps for kids and teens in acting basics and musical theatre. There’s also a theatre boot camp for teens. Check out epcorcentre.org.

Fifth. Calgary. Company of Rogues offers summer acting workshops for adults and teens, many with a film and television focus. Visit corogues.com

Summer is finally here, school’s out for kids, and there are a plethora of wonderful camps out there? but I just wanted to to throw the spotlight on some of the ones that cater to dramatic arts. Drama camps are excellent for helping children overcome shyness or anxiety. Look at this rabbit, he is not shy any more, isn’t he?
