The Carnival Liberty ® team: captain Roberto Leotta, chief engineer Sergio Sciolla, hotel director Jose Pisa, cruise director Karl with a K, and the whole crew is welcoming us aboard for a second August fun week.
We’ve been before on cruises with the other cruise lines. With “the Carnival” for the first time. So, a new experience-a new challenge.
We picked up this cruise by the interesting itinerary: travelling around the islands in the Caribbean Sea. From Miami (USA) leaving the Straits of Florida, crossing Tropic of Cancer, approaching Yucatan Channel, we arrive at Mexican Isle of Cozumel, then pass Belize and Gulf of Honduras, land at Roatan islands of de Honduras and stopping at Cayman Islands (Georgetown of Grand Cayman), turn around back to Miami, in the far distance seeing the Cuban big islands. The USA does not have the agreement with Cuba, so trespassing the Cuban waters is strictly prohibited.
The ship is like all the other ships with 14 decks, Lido deck on the 9-th, restaurants and theaters, ‘serenity” on the sun deck and many other useful accommodations for families, kids, teenagers.
Ah, Ah, Carnival! The ship’s name corresponds exactly the life style aboard. For seven days and nights we were carnavaling a lot: dancing, singing, swimming, watching shows and movies, making new friends with everybody and everywhere. Such an open friendly atmosphere!
Even, as in our case, the guests of our ship were so much engaged in fun, some of them forgot their schedule of disembarking the ship causing lots of trouble for others who had their plane international flights before the midday on August 17th. The guest services staff explained this embarrassment as if it were for the first time in the 8-years “Liberty”‘s sailing experience.
We did not believe it. Neither did.
Nevertheless, the journey was, in fact, fascinating. From the Day No.1 Gleb disappeared out of our sight: he made so many new friends, being involved in sports, games, parties and other compelling events on board. Hispanic, Caribbean, hard rock, modern dancing music was sounded from each and every corner as though you were wrapped in live sounds. Young people participated in parties till 3-4 o’clock in the morning. Hardly had time to sleep ’cause on the mornings there were scheduled the interesting shore excursions, sea adventures fun which they did not want to miss them, either. We saw the young people sometimes sleeping on the way to the open sea on the boats before jumping in the sea and having fun with sting rays or dolphins. Poor little teenagers! They had their fun program fulfilled in complete form! No time to sleep at all-sleep at home when one returns. On “THE CARNIVAL” catch a moment of life, Buddy!
As for adults, we rushed to the Promenade Deck 5 where Venetian Palace Main Show Lounge was to watch every night new shows hosted by cruise director Karl, featuring a Sneak Peak of the Punchliner Comedy Club with Russ Nagel and Nanny Olivera, with the Liberty Dances & Vocals of Ali & Graeme Live Music by Patrick Bloagett and the Liberty Big Band.
On the same level sometimes we visited the Piano Man bar to listen to the live piano music and Samba music:Helena Vondrackova-Samba (2008-12-13)
Their motto: “Fun for All-All for Fun” was satisfied in full, really.
